The good, the bad and the ugly: latest PMI’s Project Management survey highlights

PMI’s has just released the 2016 Pulse of the Profession based on a survey of approximately 3,000 professionals including Senior Executive, Project Management Practitioners and PMO Directors.  Because you are busy professional and would spend to spend your time working and not reading research papers, we’ve decided to highlight the most important points of interest.The good, the bad and the ugly: highlights from latest PMI Project Management Research and why you should care

Here is a summary of the findings:

  • There is still a disconnect between Senior Management and PMO Directors as to the role of Project Management within the organization.
  • Not enough Projects receive the support of Senior Management.
  • Fewer projects completed within budget and in line with business intent compared with last year’s survey.
  • Only 52% of Projects reach their stated goals if there is not a culture of Project Management.
  • 71% of Projects reach their goal when Project Management culture is a high priority within the organization.
