How to delete tasks in Binfire

Recently a few users have asked how they can delete, move or edit a task in binfire’s task & milestone tab. Binfire provides the following tools for for managing a task:

  • Delete
  • Move
  • History
  • Edit

To see these tools, plcae you mouse hovering over any task’s name. As the picture below shows a tool bar opens to the left of the task’s name. Press on any icon to to activate it. To edit a task, press the pen icon. A window opens up which lets you edit the task. In this form you can change the task name, assign new resource, change the start and due dates and record the progress you have made in this task. The same way you can press on delete ( bin icon) to delete a task. Before the task is deleted, you get a warning to make sure you really intended to delete the task. To move a task press on the crossed arrows and a window opens to help you to move the task where you want to. The last item is history (shown by letter H) which gives you all the history recorded for a given  task. All changes to a task are recorded and displayed here.

Another great tool on this page is the starring option. Notice to the left of each task there is a star. Press this star, it changes it color to bright yellow. From now on, every time this task is changed, you get notified. This way you can be updated on all tasks in a big project without being overwhelmed. When you create a task, or a task is assigned to you, the system automatically marks you to follow that task!

Note: In small screens with low resolution, the inline tool bar might be clipped or not totally visible. Use a minimum resolution of 1024 x 768
