Do you like to use boards to create new\u00a0tasks and view the status of all your task? Do you like the simplicity which\u00a0list view\u00a0provides for managing tasks and adding subtasks? Do you want to be able to switch between the board and list view at will?<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately, most project management application<\/a>s like Asana<\/a> or Trello<\/a> only give you the option to have the board view or list view, not both!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Board and list View<\/span><\/h2>\n

Boards are great to visually manage tasks. They let you change the status of a task easily, add new tasks, and view all your task in a nice graphical view based on where they are in the development cycle.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you use Agile project management<\/a>\u00a0to manage your projects, Kanban based boards are a must. They make it easier to use options like scrum or other Agile methods.<\/span><\/p>\n

Lists are great for easily adding subtasks, descriptions, assigning the task to someone, and to attach files to a task.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you use waterfall as your preferred\u00a0task management<\/a> method, lists which have subtask options are the right choice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both options are important and needed in a robust project management software. The combination of both methods frees the project manager and the project team from the methodology and lets them focus on the project itself.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why not all\u00a0project management applications don’t support both options simultaneously for all projects you might ask? Because supporting board and task view are complicated and the application’s structure needs to be designed from the beginning to allow these options.<\/span><\/p>\n
