We at Binfire are proud to announce the establishment of a scholarship program for women who are studying science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) at colleges and universities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Binfire is actively hiring women software engineers. We believe\u00a0more girls in high school and colleges should be encouraged to pursue getting science\u00a0or engineering degrees.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Our development office in Israel has been actively supporting the participation of high school girls in the First Robotic competition program<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Many of these girls have enrolled in science or engineering degrees in Universities here in Israel and abroad after graduating from high school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

To encourage more girls and young women to choose science and technical fields, we are establishing a scholarship fund for women studying science\u00a0or engineering in universities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Scholarship Requirements<\/span><\/h2>\n

Women studying\u00a0software engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Math, or Physics\u00a0are eligible to apply.<\/span><\/p>\n

Each scholarship\u00a0will be worth $1000 and will be awarded each year to\u00a0five female students studying engineering\u00a0or science, for a total of $5,000 per year.<\/span><\/p>\n

To qualify, the students should have finished at least\u00a02 semesters of studies in an accredited\u00a0college or university in a four-year science\/engineering program. <\/span><\/p>\n

They should have\u00a0a grade point average\u00a0of 3.2 (based on a 4.0 GPA system, we will adjust for other grading systems accordingly).<\/span><\/p>\n

To apply, the students should send a 500-word essay describing why they choose to study science or engineering and what are their goals when finishing studies?<\/span><\/p>\n

We want to know your goals and ambitions when you graduate from college?<\/span><\/p>\n

Why do they think studying science or engineering\u00a0can help to improve women’s quality of life and positions in the workplace and society?<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0essay should be sent to scholarships@binfire.com no later than the 28th of May of each year. <\/span><\/p>\n

We will announce the\u00a0five winners of the scholarship at the end of the\u00a0month of July.<\/span><\/p>\n

For one of the scholarships, the\u00a0preference will be given to the female students who have participated in the First Robotic program in the past.<\/span><\/p>\n

After we will announce the winners of the scholarship, the students\u00a0need to provide an official copy of their transcript to show they meet the requirements of this scholarship program before the $1000 award could be\u00a0granted.<\/span><\/p>\n

We encourage colleges and universities to take advantage of this program and bring it to the attention of their students.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If you\u00a0know any high school or college girl interested in science or engineering, please bring this scholarship program to their attention.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, as long as you have studied 2 semesters in approved programs mentioned above and your GPA is 3.2 or above you qualify.<\/span><\/p>\n

4-Can I apply multiple years?<\/span><\/p>\n

Yes, as long as you are a full-time student and maintain your GPA above 3,2 you can apply each year. Prior grants don’t disqualify you for new scholarship grants.<\/span><\/p>\n
