What is binfire.com?

The new Binfire.com is a project management and collaboration tool for professional teams. Our main emphasis is to help teams located on separate geographical areas (different cities, countries and continents) to work smoothly and efficiently. We plan to provide all tools needed to make virtual project room a reality.

How safe are my files and my projects?

We use highly respected Rackspace.com to host our site and save all files in their file storage servers. In addition all servers are backed up daily on a different location.

How do I know if you will be in business in 2 years?

We have been in business already for 2 years. We are backed by private investment, and our goal is long term growth. We will be here for a long time to come!

What do I get with a free account?

Currently we offer free accounts only. The paid version will be available in Q2 2011. Free account users get the following features:

• 2GB free online storage divided between your private online folder and the project you own!

• Multiple files upload

• File size limit up to 200 MB

• Access to file’s previous versions

• Creating 2 project which includes:

  • Project folder accessible by all project team members

  • Project dashboard with active links to events and tasks

  • Resource management and member’s permissions

  • Create Milestone and Tasks including dependencies

  • Task History

  • Secure Status Tweet for status reporting by project member

  • Interactive real-time Whiteboard

  • Chat and Group chat

• A user can be member of unlimited projects. The resource for these projects comes from the project owners’ accounts, not members.

• View image and PDF files online

When will you have a paid version and what extra features you provide?

Since April of 2011 paid plans are available The paid plans have additional capabilities compared to free plan as listed below.

• More online storage (25GB-100GB o more)

• More projects (3 to unlimited)

• Project members (10 to unlimited)

• Gantt and PERT Charts

• Advance project status reporting

• Project manager control panel, in addition to project owner.

How do I view images or PDF files?

In the Files tab Just click on any image or PDF file. The file is displayed in the web browser. Large images take longer to show. You can open a PDF file and go through its pages. You can also zoom in and out. We will add support for more formats in the near future.

In the whiteboard, you can drag & drop an image or a PDF file from the project folder to the whiteboard. This enables the team to collaborate on a document. You can resize any item in the whiteboard. When opening PDF files, a window let’s you select the page you want to paste on the whiteboard.

What can I do in the whiteboard?

Our new whiteboard is an interactive real-time collaboration tool. You and your project team can use the whiteboard for brainstorming, presentation or review. You can write, draw or open jpg, PNG and PDF documents for collaboration. Everybody present at the session can write or draw on the whiteboard and all can see the changes in real time. The combination of the chat tool and the whiteboard provides a powerful collaboration environment. A tool like Skype could be used to add voice to the collaboration session. In the future we may integrate Skype in the whiteboard and chat to enhance collaboration.

Do you have live customer support?

Paid users will have access to 24/7 live customer support chat. We will also provide telephone support for professional accounts. You can always send email to support (at)binfire.com . In the future we will also have a forum for discussing issues related to binfire!

We provide the most comprehensive project management and collaboration tools online. We have integrated unique and easy to use social media features like status tweet for project status reporting, interactive multi-media whiteboard, Project folder, real tasks and milestones with dependencies, group chat and more. All these services are integrated into one easy to use site. In addition we will provide revolutionary project management updating tools in the near future. Our current free service is much better than our competition’s paid services.

For how long I can keep my free account?

You can keep your free account for as long as you want. Our only requirement is that you be active on the site for at least once in a month. If the account is inactive for 2 months, we will send you a warning and after a week we will delete the account if no action is taken.

Why inactive free accounts are deleted?

It cost us money to store the user files and information. If the user is not using the site regularly, then it is a waste of our resources.

Can I access the old versions of my files?

Yes, you can access all version of each file. Use the file drop down tool to see file info.

Can I archive my projects?

Paid accounts will be able to archive and retrieve their projects.

How many projects can I create?

As a free user, you can create one project and join unlimited number of projects created by your colleagues or friends.

How many files I can upload?

As many as you want. As long as you have space in your online storage you can upload files. For free account the storage limit is 10GB and the file size limit is up to 200 MB. You can uploaded multiple files. We don’t limit the number of files or the combined size of all files when you upload files.

Can I download a few files at the same time?

We will have this feature soon. All files will be ZIPPED and downloaded.

How to use tasks and millstones?

We use a top down methodology for project management. Define your milestones first, then create your tasks and sub tasks. Assign resources to the tasks, set the due time and add dependencies. You can add one or more dependency to a task. If a task depends on another task, its start date can’t be before the end date of the task which it depends on. You can keep track of your entire project in one compact page and see tasks that are late or falling behind. This feature will be expanded greatly in the future version.

How many members can I add to my project?

As free member you can add up to 4 additional members (in addition to yourself) to the project. Notice that all project members have their own private account and have 10GB of storage space. The resources for your project come from your storage space not theirs.

What is the status tweets?

This is the best and most efficient tool for status reporting. The most effective way to communicate in a project is by short precise sentences. All status tweets are viewable by all members. Status tweets are a great way to ask you project members to give a status report at the end of the day. The status tweets are secure and are seen only by you and your team.

How can I recover my password?

We can’t recover your password for you. In the log in page you can find forgot password link. We will send you a link to change your password. Passwords are encrypted, so we cannot send them to you. The only option to set a new password!

Free accounts will be always free?

We will always have free options. The features and options in the free accounts may change.
